Introduction

For 21st Century Learning - Context, we have to blog about four contexts that we have learned about for during our 10 weeks in University. I have chosen to blog about Philosophy for Children, the Foundation Phase, Te Whariki and Learning Outside the Classroom.

I decided to blog about Philosophy for Children (P4C) because I found the idea of having philosophy lessons for children facsinating. I never would have been interested in having philosophy lessons as a child, but it is interesting that some schools do P4C.

I decided to blog about the Foundation Phase because it is such a contrast to how my Primary School life was. It's interesting to see how it is more play based then just sitting behind desks copying off the board.

I chose to blog about Te Whariki because, it is one of schools that the Foundation Phase is based on. I thought it would be interesting to see the similarities and differences between the two.

I chose to blog about Learning Outside the Classroom because it is such an interesting context. It shows that you don't need to be in a formal learning environment to learn.

Thanks for reading my Introduction and I hope you enjoy the rest of my blog
